Founded in 2016, Attentive is the 800 pound Gorilla of SMS (text message) marketing platforms. They have a similar platform to PostScript (our recommended SMS marketing tool) but have worse reporting tools, their integrations though more numerous are less seamless than PostScripts (especially the Klaviyo integration), and adding shortcodes to SMS is not as easy. We’ve also heard that customers who use Attentive and were looking to switch to another SMS provider struggled to get their SMS list from the platform to bring to another.

Attentive is the largest SMS (text message) marketing platform primarily focused on eCommerce companies.
Attentive was founded by Brian Long and Andrew Jones, who previously started mobile ad tech company TapCommerce which was acquired by Twitter in 2014 for a reported $100 million. After working at Twitter for a couple years post-acquisition, Long and Jones decided to start something new, identifying a need for better mobile messaging tools for businesses. They launched Attentive in 2016 with a platform aimed at helping businesses communicate with customers via targeted, personalized text messaging. They received $13 million in Series A funding led by Bain Capital Ventures. Today, they are the largest SMS marketing platform focused on eCommerce businesses.
Unfortunately, Attentive does not share their pricing publicly.
